There is no adapter included, but this can run on (4) D-sized batteries. Batteries are not included. Clean battery compartment. No manual or box included. The ribbon cartridge that is installed and used for the demo video is included. I do not know how much ribbon remains on the cartridge. This typewriter does come with the original cover, and it has a handle making it easy to carry it. The typewriter (without batteries) weighs approximately 5 LBS.
