These are Akahon-kun playing cards.
Unused.
I took them out for the photos, but I haven't removed the band, so I don't know what the designs are.

Akahon-kun was created in 2009 through a public募集 (recruitment) to promote Higashi Honganji (Shinshu Otani-ha) for the 750th anniversary of the founder Shinran Shonin in 2011 (the mascot debuted in 2010).
He is cherished by Ran-on-kun and Ren-chan.
Personality: He loves meeting people and is truly curious.
Favorite food: Buddhist rice, apples, he tries to eat everything.
Disliked food: None
Skills: Reciting the Shoshin-ge, seiza (formal sitting), cleaning, helping out, peeling apples
Weaknesses: Cannot roll over, being treated roughly
Hobbies: Making prayer beads, history, walking on the beach
