More information about Fred Harvey Era- Elongated Sterling Silver & Dragon's Breath Art Glass Ring-Sz 5

A striking Fred Harvey Era ring with an elongated art glass cab known as Dragon's Breath. The name not only captures the imagination, but aptly describes the vapor prefer flashes of violet that appear & disappear as the light plays over the surface of the pink & orange cab. A size 5, the ring face measures 1 1/4" high x 1/2" at the widest. Marked Sterling-7grams. The glass is in a plain bezel & framed by silver drop & rope details. The setting is mounted on a split shank with stamped designs. The ring displays wear, as can be seen by the small pits in the surface. When I acquired it, the glass was so dull, it looked like it been sandblasted. If you do a little looking online, you'll find several listings that look like that. I spent just enough time at my polishing machine to bring the Dragon's Breath back to life. The horizontal line across the center is not a crack, nor does it reach the surface. It looks to be an inclusion that developed during manufacture. A bit worn, but terrific!
