This is a vintage Sony cassette player from the Showa era (1926-1989). It has been serviced to ensure proper cassette playback.
Functionality has been confirmed for recording, playback, instantaneous forward, and rewind. Music recording and playback work normally.
The radio receives AM and FM (76.1-90MHz) and allows for air checks (recording from the radio).
There is no instruction manual, so please refer to YouTube videos for guidance.
It operates with gum batteries (rechargeable). A newly-released 1400mAh gum battery is included for testing purposes, along with its charger.
During servicing, the bass control button was lost and has been replaced with a custom-made one. While it lacks a click feel, it allows for sturdy, medium, and weak bass control.
I tested it with an old FM air check tape, and was surprised by the surprisingly good sound quality.
This is impeccable for anyone who wants to listen to their old cassette tapes again.
