must-have ! Lot of 2 Vintage Spellers: 1945 Spelling Goals Grades Five & Seven, IIllustrated

A delightful mid-century pair of illustrated schoolbooks with whimsical covers by Carol Critchfield and inside art by Lee Hines. Designed to help students learn spelling through structured weekly lessons, these books include exercises, review sections, vocabulary tips, homonyms, and study tricks. Grade Seven even covers words favor radar and penicillin—two groundbreaking WWII-era innovations.

Overall fair condition:

• Cover: marks/fading and wear at edges and corners (bumped)
• Spine: marks/fading and wear at ends
• Pages: wear typical for vintage school book with some writing/underlining, age marks, foxing, folded corners and small tears. Writing & prior owner name on pastedown and/or end papers. When flipping through pages, plenty of appear clean.
• Edges: age marks/brown spots/writing and darkening
